Zoe Glencross | Beautifully British Published: 31-07-2020 ‘A move from Manchester to the meadows of Cheshire meant a real lifestyle change. Being surrounded by massive skies and wildlife inspired me to create. I have always loved interiors and following our move seized the opportunity to learn the craft of fabric design and print, combining my love of colour, paint and fabric. I love the grainy, imperfect effect of hand printing on linen, bringing the texture and integrity of my designs to life.’ – Zoe GlencrossZoe Glencross has always loved interiors and decided to start her own textile company following a move to the wild, open meadows of Cheshire. Inspired by huge skies and an abundance of wildlife Zoe seized the opportunity to learn the craft of fabric, design and print combining her love of colour and fabric.Zoe Glencross products are proudly made in England and is privileged to have worked with some of England’s best print manufacturers in England. Working closely with such printing experts meant that Zoe’s handprinted designs could then be translated onto screens for larger scale production. Each design is a work of art and can be just as effective on their own just as they work when layered together for a textured look. One of the many things that makes Zoe Glencross stand out from the crowd is her dedication to helping the planet. The company does this by being committed to supporting global re-forestation through ‘one tree planted’ as of December 2019 which whom they plant one tree for every online order they receive. The products now available include fabrics, wallpapers, beach bags, made to order lampshades, woven throws, made to order sofas, stationary, tea towels, wash bags and something brand new – scented candles! The Meadowlands collection is a modern take on a classic theme with a contemporary, more modern twist to suit not only country cottages but an urban town house too. The Nordic story collection is inspired by Zoe’s travels to Sweden and Denmark. The designs are bold and contemporary and were developed using simple paper-cut silhouette techniques and translated into lino carved and screen prints. The Elements collection designs were originally hand sketched, lino carved and hand printed at the kitchen table! ‘I absolutely love the craft of hand printing and like to play with scale and layout, using just one or two simple motifs, to create several different designs’ – Zoe Glencross. Two scents are available, the first is Meadowlands which is a mixture of lavender, bergamot and basil created to echo the scent of English summer days bringing a touch of country gardens and meadow walks to the home. Meadowlands is available in a single or triple wick and comes in a beautifully designed box that you can use as a keepsake for jewellery etc afterwards. The second is Nordic story, a more intense scent of vetiver, pine and ginger.
