Trullo London Published: 27-07-2018 Trullo London is a stylish yet simple Italian restaurant that takes traditional cuisine to the next level. Founded by Jordan Frieda and Tim Siadatan who have a combination of exemplary expertise, Trullo opened in 2010 and is the slower more relaxed sister restaurant to fast paced Padella.Trullo is now fully established as one of London’s most accomplished and respected neighbourhood restaurants and serves a seasonal Italian inspired menu of antipasti, primi (pasta), oven and charcoal grill dishes.Tim and Jordan are incredibly passionate about pasta and made Trullo all about fresh handmade pasta using classic techniques. While working at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant ‘Fifteen’, Tim fell in love with pasta under the guidance of former River Cafe chef, Pete Beggs. As a result, a number of the pasta dishes at Trullo have become signatures, with the magnificent Pappardelle with beef shin ragĂ» never leaving the menu as well as bold British inspired pasta dishes like the Taglierini with green and yellow courgettes, and brown shrimp. The warm, lively atmosphere of the restaurant stems from both Tim and Jordan’s backgrounds but also their desire to have fun and work with individuals with a passion and personality similar to the hospitality you would receive from a true Italian host. With his experience at the River Cafe, Jordan has been able to incorporate a sense of calm attentiveness amongst the front of house team at Trullo that can be instantly felt when you arrive for dinner. The restaurant has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. When you arrive you step through heavy sheltering curtains that enters the dining room with a black velvet banquette running down one side of the restaurant against a wall of windows next to the street, which floods the restaurant with natural light through to the open kitchen at the back. The decor is simplistic and unpretentious yet comfortable with tables tucked away into the arches on the lower floor to give guests the choice of a more intimate and quieter dining space.Trullo takes reservations and is open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Sunday.
