The one secret you need to know for the perfect dark and moody pantry Published: 07-09-2022 Who doesn’t love a dark and moody pantry? Much like the downstairs guest loo, the pantry is a room where you can be bolder and more daring with your design choices – it’s on a smaller scale and it’s a room you typically don’t spend a lot of time in. We see more and more clients taking a walk over to the dark side and wanted to share with you the one simple trick we share with them in how to get it 100% spot on….So, if you’re using a dark colour palette – the key is balancing this with contrast accents. For us, the floor is the secret ingredient in the design – the binding finish that pulls the whole look together. Keeping the floor tile light and neutral creates an easy sense of flow when you walk into the pantry, as also provides the continuity from the main kitchen or hallway. The flooring is a foundational element in any design, and keeping it light and neutral allows the layering of finishes and colours to balance perfectly.
