Tandridge project – ii. pantry Published: 23-02-2025 The pantry in this project is located just a little way opposite the kitchen and makes use of an awkward space. It was always a bit of a TBC area as until the contractor started we didn’t really know what space we’d have and how it would all work. We always knew though, that whatever was behind the door, it would be beautifully illuminated and it would have a Georgian style glazed door so that you’d be able to see through. As this space is just to the right of the dining area it was important that it had a bit of oomph to it so choosing the colour of the island – Soot – for the cabinetry and the door itself helped link it back to the kitchen but also looked really cool too. Adding the Berkeley oak ladder within the pantry design was an easy decision too and provides both function and looks the part too. We also made the Crosby console table to the right hand side – this is just the perfect addition to this free bit of wall space and is finished in Berkeley oak with mid-antique brass waxed bespoke handles. Again, the baskets are from the Basket Company and provide a bit of texture and practical storage too. Having drawers in the console table is so useful for keys and bits of post etc when you walk in the door which is a bit easier to visualise in the image above. It’s so important look at every elevation in an open plan space as you need to plan in the M&E early on to make sure you have everything you need in the right place.
