Spiced Nuts

This spiced nuts recipe is quick, easy and full of flavour. With a combination of sweet, and salty with a hint of spice, this is the perfect pre-dinner nibble with a glass of fizz, or as a tasty snack!

INGREDIENTS

  • 170°c – 25 minutes, turning every 5-10 mins
  • 100 blanched hazelnuts
  • 100g almonds
  • 2tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 2tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (more if you like spice)
  • 3tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 pinches salt (more if you love salt!)
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • A few sprigs of rosemary

Method

  1. Mix paprika, cayenne pepper, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, salt and olive oil in a bowl. Tip in nuts and seeds and mix until well coated.
  2. Spread nuts onto a baking sheet lined tray and place in preheated oven.
  3. Cook for 25-30 minutes on 170°c until golden brown and the moisture has most cooked away. Turn every 5-10 minutes, add the rosemary 10 minutes before the end and mix.
  4. Serve with a glass of fizz for a tasty aperitif, or enjoy as a snack!
