The Cobham Project | Sophie Paterson Interiors Published: 29-01-2016 We first wrote about Sophie Paterson’s work as an interior designer last year. She must be one of the hardest working designers in the industry with a steady stream of stunning new projects being finished. We loved this Cobham project that was finished last year. When the clients contacted Sophie Paterson Interiors their home was a very well built and beautifully proportioned new build but the clients wanted to add some wow factor and create their perfect forever family home.Sophie designed and installed the whole house in five months, altering the lighting design, staircase design, staining all the existing internal carpentry from raw oak to grey oak. They installed a cinema, an enormous dressing room and bespoke carpentry and furnishing throughout. The result is a luxurious, contemporary home with classic touches that will stand the test of time. Scroll down to take the tour…From the second you walk in the enormous double-fronted doors, you can spot the hallmarks of Sophie’s distinctive design style immediately: the cool and collected colour palette, the perfect balance of textures and beautiful accessories that reflect the personalities of the homeowners. The downstairs loo is a great place to blow the budget on some super luxe wallpaper and it doesn’t get much better than De Gournay’s exquisite hand-painted wallpapers. The formal dining room has a cosy luxe feel thanks to the textured wallpaper, plush silk rug and super comfortable dining chairs. The open plan kitchen space has a dining area and a small sitting area which is perfect for modern family living. We love the simple floral styles created by our favourite London florist Wild Wood London. In the sitting room we love the layers of textures which will always take a space from wow to WOW.The staircase design was altered by Sophie to reflect the overall look and feel of the space. The study features wood panelling and floor to ceiling bespoke oak cabinetry which has been beautifully styled by Sophie to include the homeowner’s own pieces and photograghs as well as new accessories. The guest room has a cool and calming grey colour palette and incredible feature wallpaper. The master bedroom is a real lesson in luxury living with beautiful textured wallpaper, a super large bespoke headboard and carefully chosen furniture that fit the proportion and scale of the room perfectly.A dream of a dressing room with oodles of space and open shelving at one end.Possibly the most stylish nursery in the world, this is the first time we have seen a nursery designed by Sophie and as you’d expect, she’s 100% nailed it.We love the mix of furniture and accessories that reflect the beautiful safari wallpaper. And lastly, we love the bold wallpaper design and mix of more industrial materials of metal and leather in this teenage bedroom.
