Sloane Porcelain | Chislehurst Project

Published:

The Chislehurst project is the epitome of classic, contemporary luxury that invites you in at just a glance. The sense of calm however doesn’t just derive itself from the beautiful furnishings and bespoke Humphrey Munson kitchen, it begins from the ground up.

With replica mineral detail throughout, the Sloane porcelain tiles in this kitchen have tones of ivory and flecks of both light and dark grey. The tiles also offer a smooth surface with square edges, all combining to create the illusion of a natural stone floor. This beautiful natural effect porcelain helps to create a fusion of cool, contemporary tones which works so well when pared with natural elements of the oak furniture, crucial trading rug and burnt orange leather bar stools.

The finishes in this project were specified by the HM design team and Creative Director Louisa Eggleston advises looking at the different elements of the design together: “I always feel it’s important not to get too laser focused on one aspect of the design – you need to look at everything in the round and how it layers together. I always like to keep in mind the original vision for the space and what we want to achieve in terms of the actual mood of the room – laying out finishes in this way is useful to guide this process and ensure a cohesive end result“.

What we particularly love about this project, is that is doesn’t end inside. The Sloane outdoor tiles continue outside to create a sense of flow which is accentuated when the glass doors are open on warmer days, bringing the outside in.

Because there’s no requirement to seal porcelain tiles (they are non-porous) it makes it a very low maintenance alternative to natural stone. It has a beautiful, textured quality to it, with a slight hint of relief underfoot, giving it its matt surface.

Furthermore, it’s suitable for both domestic and commercial interior floors with high traffic areas making this tile an all-rounder. It’s available in a 60cm x 90cm x 1.0cm format and pricing starts at £90.00 per SQM + VAT & delivery, however we do offer quantity based discounts depending on the order size.

We charge £5.00 per sample which you can request through the website using or over the phone. All sample orders are deductible from any order placed with HM Flooring library.
