Orangery Kitchens Published: 28-06-2020 A kitchen orangery extension can transform homes of almost any proportion into a more usable, light and bright space to be celebrated. We have the pleasure of working with many clients who opt to reconfigure their spaces with orangeries designed and manufactured by Westbury Garden Rooms, whose installations work in harmony with our classic contemporary kitchen designs. We’ve put together a selection of images that illustrate how a well made, well designed orangery can create a dream-worthy space…P I N E W O O D H O U S E, T U N B R I D G E W E L L SThe orangery extension designed and manufactured by Westbury Garden Rooms at the Pinewood House kitchen provides plenty of light and space for the Humphrey Munson kitchen and dining area which has a bespoke refectory table finished in Portobello oak (the same accent wood as the kitchen). To help put this space into perspective, before the extension the kitchen was a much smaller and darker room but the addition of an orangery helped to breathe new life into the space. The combination of painted cabinetry with the dark Portobello wood accent, polished nickel hardware and light quartz worktops creates a layered look and feel that ensures the space feels perfectly balanced. To view the full project click here.S E V E N O A K S, K E N TThe Sevenoaks project is an ingenious example of how reconfiguring a series of rooms and incorporating an orangery style extension can transform a space – and the family’s daily life. This radically reimagined room is now an open plan kitchen, scullery, utility and walk in pantry.Natural light streams into this kitchen orangery through a glazed roof lantern fitted on the far side of the room, this area is closest to the garden, along with tall casement windows. The minimal lines and balanced symmetry of the timber roof lanterns have an impressive impact on the room – helping to bring a calming and tranquil feel to the interior no matter the time of year. The homeowners love dining at the informal banquette seating with the orangery doors open in the summer months and letting the warm breeze flow in – total dream kitchen. To view the full project click here.A S H U R S T H O U S E P R O J E C T The new kitchen at the Ashurst house project, Essex is an extension to the farmhouse, and the dining area is set in a beautiful timber-framed orangery by Westbury Garden Rooms. The orangery extension, which became the body to the new open plan kitchen, dining area, walk in pantry and scullery extension (all designed and manufactured by Humphrey Munson) now allows for plenty of sunlight, fresh air and seasonal beauty to stream in and become a part of the inside space.By using quality craftsmanship and clever architectural detail, Westbury ensured that all the elements were considered in conjunction with one another, and in particular kept in mind the dynamics of the open plan kitchen that we designed and installed. The end result is a beautifully designed space that the whole family really enjoys using – it looks incredible but it also works perfectly.View the full project here.
