Emma Alington is a ceramics studio based in Maidenhead that specialise in high-end bespoke projects as well as working with retailers around the world to deliver signature product ranges. Since the studio was established in 2013, Emma’s ethos has been dedicated to quality craftsmanship and an emphasis on design, beauty and function.

Using a variety of clays, each product is well suited for functional tableware or homeware purposes. Whilst some pieces are made in-house, due to popularity of some products Emma Alington also collaborates with other British ceramic manufacturers who produce larger ranges of their products.

From one-off bespoke pieces to commercial design projects and collaborations, Emma Alington turn crockery ideas into reality. The team at Emma Alington have worked with Michelin Star restaurants, homeware brands and private clients from around the world and huge take pride in each and every piece of work they take on.

‘We have worked with a variety of commercial clients, from creating ranges of bespoke tableware for Heston Blumenthal’s world famous restaurants in Bray, to custom made ranges for Fortnum & Mason. As well as beautifully tableware, Emma Alington has literally just launched a new range of candles. With three scents to choose from, each candle holder is hand-cast in bone china and glazed only on the inside for a subtle, refined look. This leaves a tactile, unglazed surface on the outside that also enhances the glow when lit – perfect now that the nights are drawing in. The inner rim is finished off with a hand-painted 22k gold band adding their signature touch of gold. Each candle will burn for approximately 30 hours and are made from 100% poured GM free soy wax and a refill service is also available. Find out more here.

The new Vetiver & Juniper candle for example is a sophisticated blend that creates a fresh, woody aroma. Vetiver oil is made from the roots of the plant which brings an indulgent, earthy, warm tone to a space.

The winter spice candle is for this upcoming festive season. The perfect blend of orange and cinnamon essential oils it’s a great way to set the scene for a glass of mulled wine and card writing by the fire.
