Buns and Buns | Covent Garden Published: 24-07-2019 Following a successful debut in Miami, vibrant restaurant Buns and Buns has finally arrived in iconic Covent Garden, London. Founder Alexandre Zibi is the master puppeteer of this finely tuned restaurant operation with the idea of bringing a compilation of the world’s best breads to Covent Garden for all to enjoy.“I realised that every single country pairs bread with everything. So I thought, why not do a restaurant that pairs everything with these breads, because who doesn’t like bread?! I wanted to cherry-pick my favourites and bring them to Buns and Buns, where we hope that every table will happily break bread together, something that people have been doing for thousands of years.” – Alexandre ZibiHoused in a glass-box, passers-by have a view of the busy open kitchen at the centre of the restaurant space. Here you can quite literally sit and watch as the action unfolds. Marble-clad counters display an array of fresh produce from legumes to lobster and of course, as with all good restaurants, Buns and Buns has an amazing bar. Located at the far end of the restaurant the curved open plan bar serves fresh juices laced with craft spirits that change seasonally. When it comes to food you are most certainly not stuck for choice. A dim sum trolley is perfect for quick grab items, or opt for dishes on the main menu like the brioche lobster roll with skinny fries (pictured above) which is said to be particularly good. If, like us, you are always looking for that all-in authentic dining experience, Buns and Buns have two must try dishes that have become synonymous with the restaurant brand; the truffle and wild mushroom bun and the Thai chilli prawn bun with lime, coriander and aioli. If you can’t decide, why not try both? The mouth-watering menu at Buns and Buns has been designed for even the fussiest of diners – the perfect spot for a wholesome lunch with a group.Diners tip: We’ve been told that ordering food in stages is key as the portions are generous – or if you are particularly ravenous you can just go all out!
